All Blacks & Maori Culture
Related to country: New Zealand

Not only is New Zealand's All Black rugby team one of the most dominant teams in the world, but it is also highly respected for its pride in the Maori history. The All Blacks are infamously known by opponent teams because of their fierce Haka dance. The Haka, traditionaly performed before every game, not only serves as an intimidation strategy but also a representation of the Maori legend. In the history of the Maori, the Haka was used as a pre-battle ritual to challenge their opponents, and we think it's incredibly respectable that the rugby team still carries on this tradition today to make their sport something a little extra.
Each movement of the Haka dance symbolizes a different aspect of the Maori legend. Tane-rore, son of the Sun God to the Maoris, is known for the origin of the Haka. In Maori culture, Tane-rore is the trembling of the air which represents the quivering of the hands of the All Blacks when they are seen doing the Haka. This team leaves such a great impression on its fans because their use of the Haka is an icon to New Zealand as a whole. The performance's high intensity also displays the team's determination, commitment and a high level of play. The fans go wild and frequently express extreme devotion to their native team which ultimately contributes to the All Black's success. Furthermore, the All Black team members benefit from a jolt of energy which proves that it helps with their game as evidenced from their consistent winning record.
GO ALL BLACKS!
